i am playing in louisville next sunday at a suicide prevention event. i’m not sure this is such a great idea. all the songs that i know are so sad…  i am having a hard time putting together a 40 minute set where i never really explicitly come out in favor of death. please come by if you can. i am a tremendous jackass and this will be a fundraiser for a very good cause.

happy kentucky derby day everybody. people here are even drunker than usual.

jonathan and i saw this very nice mr. lubie instant oil change sign right next to a very creepy christian billboard somewhere in indiana yesterday. i think there is some sort of meaning here but it is hard to pin down exactly…  there are probably a lot of mr. lubie tattoos in that town i guess. 

we are learning some new songs. jim elkington is going to be playing the fancy guitar bits.

freakwater is playing at the hideout in chicago tonight. this is the last show of janet’s fabulous every tuesday in april thing. it is so beautiful here that we get to play outside on the front porch. see you later, c.
